Virtual Visits: Convenient Care, Connected to In-Person Medicine
I believe that the best medical care often begins in person.
In traditional medicine, seeing your doctor face-to-face matters. A good physician learns a lot before the physical exam even begins: from the way a patient walks into the room, breathes, speaks, moves, sits, or describes their concerns. Sometimes, subtle findings during an in-person visit can lead to an important diagnosis. Medicine is not only about lab results; it is also about observation, trust, and human connection.
For that reason, I prioritize in-person care, especially when I am meeting a patient for the first time or when a concern requires a physical exam.
At the same time, I understand that life is busy. Many people are balancing work, family, caregiving, school, and many other responsibilities. Once we have established care in person, many follow-up visits can be done virtually when clinically appropriate.
Virtual visits can be helpful for:
- Reviewing lab results
- Discussing medication changes
- Following up on chronic conditions
- Weight management follow-ups
- Cholesterol or blood pressure counseling
- Menopause or hormone-related discussions
- Mental health check-ins
- Reviewing imaging or specialist recommendations
I use virtual visits as an extension of in-person primary care, not a replacement for it. If a virtual visit is appropriate, it can make care more accessible and convenient. If I feel that an in-person exam is needed, I will recommend that we meet in the office so I can evaluate you more fully and safely.
Sometimes, we may start with a virtual visit and later decide that an in-person visit would help me better understand your health. My goal is always the same: to provide thoughtful, safe, and personalized care in the setting that best fits your medical needs.
At Yerli Primary Care, virtual visits are used intentionally — to support ongoing care, improve access, and make it easier for patients to stay connected to their doctor.
